Accept our cordial invitation to the exhibition #SamuelPauco - Embassy of Slovakia

26.09.2016 18:00

Samuel Paučo (1986) is a Slovak painter working in Brno and in Prague, graduate of prof. Martin Mainer, nowadays working as his asistant at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. His works (paintings, objects, instalations) balance between abstraction and representation, formalism and conceptualism, aesthetics and poetism, often refering to the painting medium itself… Paint, repaint, cumulate, layer on layer, where each layer or new canvas becomes a new “Curtain” in an semi-unconscious Paučo´s Play.

Nová galerie (New Gallery) will this year, for the first time, participate in the international show START Art Fair, which takes place in prestigious Saatchi Gallery in London. The work of Samuel Paučo, a painter of Slovak origin, who lives and works in the Czech Republic and with whom the Nová Galerie closely cooperates, will be presented at the START ART Fair at Saatchi Gallery. According to the organisers of the fair, young abstract art is popular among art lovers, thus the choice of the painter Samuel Paučo was obvious. Samuel Paučo has been dedicated to abstraction since the time of his studies in the atelier of Martin Mainer and he is always looking for new means of expression.

Following the START Art Fair, the exhibition will move to the Embassy of Slovakia and will be open to the public from 26 September until 11 October.

The exhibition opening will take place on 27 September with the support of The Friends of Czech Heritage. They would like to invite you to the lecture The Battle of White Mountain (1620) and the Political and Religious Transformation of Bohemia by Dr Mark Whelan, Teaching Fellow at Royal Holloway, University of London. Following the lecture, the official exhibition opening of Samuel Paučo exhibition will take place.
